Sorting a calculated field column in a Pivot Table

Question

Tuesday, September 11, 2012 1:04 PM | 1 vote

I have multiple columns in my pivot table and one of them is a calculated field.  In Excel 2003 I could select a cell in that column and click on sort (asending or desending) and it would sort the column I have a cell selected in.  That is not working in excel 2007.  How can I do this?

You can sort on a calculated field by selecting the entire column and using the "Sort & Filter" section of the Data tab in the Ribbon Menu.

I have a pivot table with count of returns vs. sold

Using the same data, I displayed it as a percentage of the row.

I wish to sort the data based on the % of row. Please help.

I am able to sort by value 52,46,45,45,27...

But I want to sort by % - 100%,100%,87% and so on..

Return  Sold
Count % Count %
52 100.00% 0.00%
46 34.85% 86 65.15%
45 50.00% 45 50.00%
45 45.92% 53 54.08%
27 87.10% 4 12.90%
26 48.15% 28 51.85%
24 70.59% 10 29.41%
23 79.31% 6 20.69%
22 84.62% 4 15.38%
20 42.55% 27 57.45%
