Meeting updates not triggering

Question

Thursday, June 13, 2019 3:07 PM

I am having an issue where meeting updates aren't trigger since moving to O365.  According to a document posted on Microsofts website information updates for meetings should trigger for 4 scenarios.  Organizer changes the location, adds an attendee, removes and attendee, or changes the subject or body of a meeting request.  The only scenario that seems to be working correctly is the changing of the location.  If I change the subject or body of an email the attendees will see the change if they open the meeting invite but they don't get the informational email that the meeting has changed like they do if I change the location.  Is there a setting in O365 to enable this?

I had to run Set-OrganizationConfig -VisibleMeetingUpdateProperties AllProperties   to fix the issue.

Yes, we need to manually change it. While this is a by-design system behavior, not an issue.

>>The only scenario that seems to be working correctly is the changing of the location.

The default value of the parameter VisibleMeetingUpdateProperties is Location,AllProperties:15: changes to the meeting location at any time, or changes to other meeting properties within 15 minutes of the meeting start time results in visible meeting update messages.

AllProperties:15, 15 here means MeetingStartTimeWithin15Minutes

If you don't specify a MeetingStartTimeWithinXMinutes value for the meeting property, any change to the meeting property will result in visible meeting update messages, which is what really want to realize.

Reference: Set-OrganizationConfig
