Changing DNS Servers in the DHCP Scope

Hello,

My company was recently bought by another company.  We have been migrating PCs to the new companies domain.  We are slowing moving servers to the new domain as well but for now a lot of them sit on the old domain.  I have been tasked to change up the 006 DNS servers.  From the old domains DHCP server, I need to update the 006 DNS server scope to point to the new domains DNS server which is also onsite.  That part seems straight forward, just update the DNS Server's IPs and point them to the new domains AD server and the clients update their DNS records to the new domains DNS server.  My question is on the old domains DHCP server, should I also update 015 DNS Domain name to the new servers domain name or keep the old domain name since I still have a small amount of PCs and servers still on the old domain or will it have no affect either way?

Hi,

You can just changed the DNS Server IP address in the DHCP settings that will be used from the clients located on the new domains to resolve the IP address/Hostnames.

015 DNS Domain name is used when a host name (not FQDN) is looked up.
