Question

Hi,
I had been struggling over the internet since long to get Windows Server 2012 R2 ISO but that includes all latest updates/rollups already integrated in it so when I install it, it would not need to be updated at least for now.
Same thing I am looking for Windows 10 pro x64, already updated ISO 14393.447 updated upto nov 8 2016
is that possible to get somehow?
I tried many times for win 10 through media creation tool bit little glitch in internet or power, disrupts download and I have to start again. Moreover I have no idea what version, build of windows 10 will give me updated or not.
currently I am downloading server 2012 R2 evaluation version that I believe will be valid for 180 days. But can it be Volume licensed to be fully functional and at what level of updates it would be?
please someone do clarify soon !

If you have an MSDN subscription you can download;
Windows Server 2012 R2 with Update but it is not all inclusive. You'll still have any newer updates to install.
You can also get this update that will help but also note the prerequisites.
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn645472(v=ws.11).aspx
The Windows 10 / 2016 updates are cumulative so just get the last one.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12387/windows-10-update-history
Yes, you can convert the 2012 R2 evaluation to retail.

thanks for the reply
I have to take MSDN subscription out of options.
I need first working stuff in my test environment it can be evaluations versions of win server and win 10, or can be for with any grace period. Once I am OK with my environment, I can proceed for getting then Volume licensed. But I need both server 2012 r2 and win10 latest updated ones.
I came to know Server 2012 R2 updates (rollups) are not cumulative and there is a huge list shown here:
Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 update history
November 15, 2016—KB3197875 (Preview of Monthly Rollup)
November 8, 2016—KB3197873 (Security-only update)
November 8, 2016—KB3197874 (Monthly Rollup)
October 18, 2016— KB3192404 (Preview of Monthly Rollup)
October 11, 2016 — KB3192392 (Security-only update)
October 11, 2016 — KB3185331 (Monthly Rollup)
September 20, 2016 — KB3185279
August 16, 2016 — KB3179574
July 21, 2016 — KB3172614
So if i got Server 2012 R2 evaluation version from where should I start updating.
If I go to download and apply each, they are huge ones in size too and how would I know dependencies.
It would have been very helpful if MS releases a downloadable latest updated ISO after each major update at least so if we are starting from scratch we would not have to go through that painful process of updations and rollups. for those already deployed yes updates and rollups must be digged out and deployed.
things seems more complex after MS new way of updations and rollups.
same is true for windows 10. on one side monthly basis there are updates (thankfully they are cumulative) on side be side if MS also releases already top updated ISO's it would help greatly for those deploying from scratch. Again for already deployed systems, we can go to apply updates but thankfully not much painful in win 10.
one more thing to ask, server 2012 r2 evaluation can be converted to retail, but can it also be volume licensed?
please give me a way out of the situations soon

Best option is to get this one, but also note the prerequisites.

Then enable automatic updates to get the rest.

Though there are a variety of ways to accomplish an up to date ISO, one of the easiest is to set up a Windows Deployment Server in your environment. This is the method employed by thousands of companies around the world. Then you can keep the distribution up to date by using DISM to update the distribution. Or, if you don't want to set up WDS (although it is quick and easy), you can manually keep an ISO up to date by simply using DISM to apply the monthly patches.
"one more thing to ask, server 2012 r2 evaluation can be converted to retail, but can it also be volume licensed?"
I believe the answer is 'yes'. But, this is not a forum that hands out legal advice, and a license is a legal agreement between you and Microsoft. You would be best served by asking your licensing questions of a trained Microsoft licensing specialist. You can find one either at Microsoft or from your reseller.

Thanks for the pointers.
Actually when setting up WDS size of image does not matter. I need it to fit my serviced image to a DVD max limit 4.7 GB because there are some machines that have no way to update through LAN. only USB or DVD installer will work.
I checked many VL downloads but problem is they are distributed with Install.esd ( newer and better format) BUT it does not allow any servicing operations in DISM except telling editions it contains.
Now there are various conversion methods using NTlite, usiong WIM2ESD-ESD2WIM and many many other. I tried a few. when they do convert ESD to WIM of regular types and compresses types. I am even able to apply pathces and updates to that WIM and then carefully replace actual ESD with this serviced WIM and convert it back to ISO. so far so good. it does install smoothly in test environment. seems I am done. But Alaaas. the size of ISO exceeds like 5 or 6 GB not fitting in DVD and no idea why my DVD DL also not accepting it. So I am stuck just at last ends of finish line.
can any one suggest something ?

or also a dual layer DVD could work.

agreed on USB devices. much better than DVD.
But problem with USB device: Read/Write is open. Once a USB installer Flash drive is ready it can be accidentally put inside a machine which may be infected or it can be mistakenly used for casual data drive.
can we lock/unlock USB read, write. I am in favor of lock and unlock both. no permanently locking because same USB drive can be used for making it ready for future updates
what is your say?

I haven't been in the market recently for flash drives, but I have a few laying around that have switches that make them read-only. Don't know if that type is still available.
