Hi,
Thank you for your update.
So we can't just export Calendar? Have you tried re-sync a new .ost file and do exporting again?
Please take the time to try it and let me know the result.
Thanks,

how you are exporting like which option you selected in export format?
what are you trying to achieve by doing that? whats the purpose for exporting files so i can determine which format would be good for your export.

File, Export, Export to a file, PST, selecting the top folder and clicking include subfolders, and then the rest just clicking next, next, finish etc with default choices

1. You can try running Outlook in safemode then export and check. to open in safemode hold down the CTRL key and double click the outlook icon. do the normal export as you were doing.
2. if doesn't work you can also try repairing your data first before exporting it.
to repair your pst files go to this path of your installed version.
32-bit Windows C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15
64-bit Windows C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15
64-bit Outlook C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15
find scanpst.exe and run that to run repair.
this should solve your issue.
if not solved then i should have mentioned this earlier but your unknown error should have number like "An unknown error has occurred. 0x80040119" can you post that whole msg here?

Same issue in safe mode
Error does just say unknown error, no further info or error code unfortunately
Should have said this is an exchange account so no local pst? So not sure if scanpst will help here
UPDATE: Tried scanpst, found some errors and fixed them, but still same issue when exporting to PST

Hi,
We should run Scanpst.exe for several times until there’s no error. Since you are using Exchange account, it’s not necessary to repair your data file, just rename the .ost file to .old and let it re-sync a new one from the server. Please refer to the following article:
What’s the total size of the items you want to export to pst, if it’s too large, I recommend you export to different pst files.
For your situation, just try to export calendar item into a separate pst file and check the result.
BTW, why do you want the exported pst file? Why not just copy the original data file and use it in another device?

Total size is 167mb
exporting just the contacts worked fine
I have always exported to PST every now and then just to create a backup file - as it contains a lot of my business data
Could just back up the OST file, but was handy as a PST as could then easily open up an old backup to recover something, can't open up an OST quite so easily

Hi Wingers
First check the PST file is error-free which means before exporting the PST, scan it with a scanpst.exe tool, the PST file can be scanned two or more times to ensure complete file repair. What you can do is export all other items except Calendar and then look for errors in calendar file, also sync OST before exporting to PST file.
Thanks

Modify following registry:
Run>regedit
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\office\16.0\outlook\cached mode
enable=0
Restart Outlook and export again.
