Question

I have an Excel spreadsheet with a column that has hyperlinked text. When I import that spreadsheet into SharePoint using the "Import Spreadsheet" App, the hyperlinked text is not maintained and the column only shows the non-clickable URL. Please advise as to how to import the spreadsheet into SharePoint so that the Hyperlinks are imported properly. Thanks!

Hi
You can create a hyperlink column after import. And switch quick edit view to copy&paste the hyperlinks.

Hi Sal Bawany,
Per my test, it works fine on my environment.
This is my way to import the spreadsheet, hope it will help you.
1.Create an excel spreadsheet with hyperlink like this:
2.Create Import Spreadsheet List.
3.Type the name and choose the file then import.
4.The hyperlinks show correctly in the list.
Besides, as a workaround, you could create a hyperlink column in the list. Then copy the hyperlink text to sharepoint list in datasheet view.
Best Regards,

Michael - thanks for your reply. I just realized that I posted my question in the SP 2010 forum whereas the version I am working on is SharePoint Online. The steps you have provided would work find in 2010 however they don't work in as well in SharePoint Online. Would you happen to have any solutions for SharePoint Online?

hi Michael, that works in SHO, but can you import 2 columns that are hyperlink? I can see on the one that does show a Hyperlink, that the setting for the column is Hyperlinked. but the column that has hyperlink text in is showing in settings as Text.
Just wondered on a side note if there was something preventing you from importing from Excel 2 columns containing Hyperlinks.
Kindest regards
Kieron
