Hi,
-
- could you access these computers via \IP or \hostname?
- turn on network discovery.
enable services Function Discovery Provider Host and Function Discovery Resource Publication.
Best regards,
Travis

Hi,
could you ping these computers from VPN client via IP addresses or hostnames?
Or could you access shared folders via \IP or \hostname?
Best regards,
Travis

Hi,
If you can't ping the computers, it is impossible to access the shared folders.
Did you enable the services on both sides?
Best regards,
Travis

I checked I have Function Discovery Provider Host and Function Discovery Resource Publication both made automatic delayed start in all PCs in the home network and the one which remotely accesses the home network via OpenVPN and PPTP.
The shared folders I referred to actually were in the HDD which is attached to the wifi router at home and I had made network drives in my remote laptop.
Thanks

Hi,
I would suggest you add a static route to the routing table on VPN client.

Hi Trevor, thanks for this but I still don't know how to assign a fixed IP to VPN connected device, can you please teach me how to check device IP which is connected via OpenVPN to Asus AC87U router, thanks.

Hi,
Sorry, I have no experience configuration OpenvPN on Asus AC87U router.
However, you can check the route table on Asus router to check if there is a static route to the home network.
Meanwhile, there are tow options "routing" and "bridging", but I am not familiar with OpenVPN.
