Hi Guys,
Would you know how can i make the Visio/Project 2010 or 2013 (standard or professional version) as the default when opening Visio files when we already deployed Office 365 with Office 2016 that have Project and Visio Viewer 2016 by using a script or editing the registry? and vice versa?
Thanks,
Wingleaf

Hi wingleaf,
Based on your description, did you mean you wanted to set Visio/Project program as default program to open Visio/Project files but not Viewer?
Have you ever tried to set file associations in your environment?
Please follow these steps and check the result:
- Please go to Control Panel.
- Click Default Programs, and then click Set your default programs.
- Click Excel, and then click Choose default for this program.
- On the Set Program Associations screen, click Select All, and then click Save.
Any updates please let me know and I'm glad to help you.
Regards,
Emi Zhang

Hi Emi,
Thanks, Here's our scenario, We deployed Office 365 (Office 2016 with MS Visio and Project (Read-Only-viewer))
Some of our user's have already installed Visio and Project 2010 or 2013 (Full Version) Since we installed Office 365, by default Visio and Project Files automatically open with version 2016, If we want to open it with 2010 or 2016, we just have to repair the Visio and Project 2010 or 2013 to make it the default. Since its a long way process just to make it to default, we just came up if you guys have a any script or registry edit for a faster way to change the default of vice versa version.
also, though your suggestion didn't solve, I appreciate your time and effort and hopefully you have the answer to my question.
Many Thanks,
Wing
