Question

Friday, March 15, 2019 7:07 AM

Hi,

I am trying to configure the DHCP scope in windows server with options of data type byte . Example In ISC dhcp configuration we have an option 27 which is MTU Subnet (27) which has either true or false(boolean) as value but in windows while i am configuring the option 27 it asks for byte value what is recommended  value  for the equivalent of true or false value.

Hello TejaShetty,

Thank you for posting in this forum.

In the DHCP server on Windows Server, option 27 specifies whether the client can assume that all subnets of the IP network to which the client is connected use the same MTU as the subnet of the network to which the client is directly connected. A value of 1 means that all subnets share the same MTU. A value of 0 means that the client should assume that some subnets of the directly connected network may have a smaller MTU.

Do you want to change the MTU of the network interface via DHCP?

Best Regards,

Leon

Hi Leon,

Thanks for reply. I just gave an example for one of DHCP option(option 27) of Boolean type and thanks for clarifying that to give 1 and 0 as equivalents for true and false values

Thanks

Teja
