Hi there,
I am getting this error code - 0x81000019 - during backup with shadow copy of primary (system) disc on Windows 10. I was quite circumvent by that because I did no expect any problems.
I have found some solutions for Windows 7 but any one for Windows 10.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

hii,
First of all ensure that you have required 40 MB free space available or not in System reserved partition.
To check this: Right click on My computer > Select Manage > Select Storage > Disk Management. Check the free space available in system reserved partition. If 40 Mb free space is not available then this might be the reason of occurring 0x81000019 error.
Create more space by following this process. Go to Start and type Disk Cleanup and press enter. > Select More Option tab > Click cleanup button under System Restore and Shadow Copies section.
Or you can delete all temp files this also will create sufficient space.
Thanks and Regards

Hi Uzivatel 919,
In addition, please open Services.msc, check to see if the Volume Shadow Copy service is started as automatically.
Besides, check the event log for the related application logs.
You can save them and then upload it into OneDrive, then post the shared link here.
Regards

Problem has been solved. Backup has been successfully done in the background in a few days.

One cannot readily check the amount of free space in the recovery partition. Disk manager does not allow that. All it shows is the size (in my case 768MB.) My C: drive has ~200GB free and the backup drive (a plug-in) has 1.6TB free. Have you any other suggestions?

I had the same 0x81000019 problem on Windows 10 using Windows 7 Backup and Restore, which I had successfully used for about 2 years. I found the Volume Shadow Copy service was set to Manual. I started the service and changed it to Automatic. This solved the problem
