Hi!
I receive error message: "ADD-IN ERROR - This add-in could not be started. Close this dialog to ignore the problem or click "Restart" to try again." when trying to use Office 2016 add-ins.
My Office version is Office 365 ProPlus (E3 license). All updates are installed on my Office.
Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting?
Thanks in advance for your help! :)
Best regards,
Toni

- In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
- Click the Security tab, and then select the Internet Sites Zone.
- Select the Enable Protected Mode check box, and then click OK.
- Restart Internet Explorer and outlook
- Try now!!
- If it didn't work, enable Protected mode on Restricted Zone and try.
Hope this Helps.

Hi Toni,
Thank you for you post.
This is either due to the specific add-in didn't get installed correctly or isn't compatible with Office 2016.
What kind of add-in is it? Please first try to uninstall and reinstall the add-in and see if that will correct the error.
If it's a third party add-in, you may also want to confirm with the manufacturer to see if there is any known compatibility issue, and probably request for an updated version.
Regards,
Ethan Hua

Hi,
This same issue happens with every add-in I have tried to use. I have for example tried "FindTime" and "Dynamics CRM" add-ins in Outlook. I have also tried uninstalling and re-installing the add-in but unfortunately no help. This issue repeats on my other computer as well and same happened on my colleagues computer also.
Best regards,
Toni
