Hi

Adding to ED

To access a shared mailbox as a additional mailbox,

1. Grant full access permission for the user on the desired mailbox - Add-MailboxPermission -Identity "Mailbox Name" -User "Jotiba" -AccessRights "FullAccess"

2. After givng permission at the server side, remove and readd the additional mailbox or close your outlook and open it again.

Still if not accesible, reply back.

check mailbox permission/ Deligates Rights.

you require full mailbox permission by running shell command add-mailboxpermission

I tried to run the below shell command

[PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-Mailboxdatabase | Add-ADPermission -User jotiba.patil -AccessRights ExtendedRight -Extended
Rights receive-as, send-as

Identity                           User                 Deny  Inherited

Then I tried to run the below shell command

Get-Mailboxdatabase | Add-ADPermission -User jotiba.patil -AccessRights ExtendedRight -ExtendedRights ms-exch-store-admin, receive-as, send-as

And received the following error.

Why not just give explicit full mailbox permissions?

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996343.aspx

What you are doing is generally used for database level access. You dont need ms-exch-store-admin rights to this mailbox do you? That's generally only required for service accounts like blackberry.

Does the delegate have rights on the mailbox?Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

  1. If you just added it, it may take some for Exch to refresh the permissions, could take up to 2 hours.  If you can, restart the IS service and test again.
