OneNote 2016  notebooks will not sync completely, Not enough memory resources are available to process this command. (Error code: 0x8) error.  This happens on W10 and W7 and OneNote also continually is crashing/closing with no error messages at all.  Please help as we are using multiple notebooks for multiple depts. to communicate so this needs to work better.  Thanks!  (Tried the disable/enable hardware acceleration and this does not help)

Hi,

I would like to know where the notebook is located, local computer, personal OneDrive folder, OneDrive for Business folder or SharePoint Online folder. How many notebooks are you opened in OneNote 2016?

I suggest you can try the following steps and check if it helps:

  1. Open OneNote 2016, backup the notebook.
  2. Click File > Account, under User Information, click Sign Out to sign out all accounts in OneNote.
  3. Click Info, close all opened notebooks.
  4. Restart OneNote 2016, click File > Account, click Sign In to login with the OneDrive account.
  5. Under Connected Services, click Add a service to add the personal OneDrive, OneDrive for Business folder or SharePoint Online services.
  6. Click Open, select the Notebooks you want to open, try to sync and check if there is no error.

Any updates in your scenario, feel free to post back for more discussion.

Best Regards,
Winnie Liang

We are still having this issue...the OneNote Notebooks reside on a network drive.  I have 13 notebooks and there are a couple of notebooks that this syncing memory error happens on quite frequently.  I've even recreated the notebooks to try and resolve the issue, but alas, that did not work.  Do you have any other suggestions?
