Hello,
I have a problem.
I cannot configure a printer for all users in Windows 10.
this is how i do it.
I install the printer via a local GPO.
I don't want Windows to manage my printers:
HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows -LegacyDefaultPrinterMode (1)
the printer must be by default for all users
HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows -IsMRUEstablished (1)
When I open "peripherals and printers", the printer that I selected by default, is not the one that I had configured on the other profile.
Has anyone ever encountered this problem?
If I don't open peripherals and printers, the following registry value is empty
HKCU:\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows -Device
which blocks some of my applications
Do you have an idea?
thks

Hello Teemo Tang ,
As explained, if I opened Devices and Printers, the value in the Device register "was automatically populated with a default printer (usually the Microsoft PDF printer).
In addition to the registry values that I modify,
I run the following command in a batch at login
- wmic printer get name
In this way, each user has a printer defined by default, up to the choice which in the state must be made by user profile.
Without change in the management of printers, I have no other solutions :)

Hello,
Open group policy editor, navigate to User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Control Panel\Printers
Enabled Turn off Windows default printer management.
You can get to the old printer window by right-clicking the Start icon, clicking on Control Panel (gets you the old legacy control panel) and then click Hardware and Sound, and Devices and Printers at the top.
Set the default printer there just like previous Windows 7.
Also check this case for more information.
