Hi Jud4ks,

>>Archive mailbox in Exchange online

Do you using a hybrid environment? Where is this archive mailbox hosted, on-premise Exchange database or Exchange online?

If this archive mailbox is hosted on Exchange on-premise, you can use command below to reconnect it to mailbox:

1. Check the MailboxGuid for this disconnected archive mailbox:

$dbs = Get-MailboxDatabase
$dbs | foreach {Get-MailboxStatistics -Database $_.DistinguishedName | where{$_.DisplayName -like "*User03*"}} | fl DisplayName,Database,MailboxGuid

2. Use this MailboxGuid to reconnect this archive mailbox to a primary mailbox:

This is an hybrid setup.

Archive Mailbox is hosted on Exchange online.

Primary Mailbox (EXO)got restored, But Archive mailbox not restored.

We tried to enable the Archive feature on the Primary  mailbox . But getting below error.

"This user object Synchronized with on-premise directory. To enable cloud based Archive mailbox for this user you must use on premise exchange admin center or exchange management shell".

Enable the archive on the remote mailbox on-prem.

Once enabled, the AADConnect sync will reestablish the archive in Exo.

Be sure that you enable a cloud-based archive on the remote mailbox, not an on-prem archive.

The disabled archive guid should be visible for the on-prem remotemailbox via on-prem powershell.

get-remotemailbox <user> |FL *guid*

We  tried d to enable the Archive from On premise, But getting the below error.

Enable-RemoteMailbox -Identity "user_alias" -Archive

This recipient already has an archive. This task doesn't support multiple archives  per recipient.

How do we reconnect only  the Archive mailbox from soft deleted mailbox?

Did you check with on-prem powershell as I mentioned above?

See what is currently set for the archive:

Get-RemoteMailbox <user> |FL *archive*

Do you mean this primary mailbox is also hosted on Exchange online?

I would confirm with you about how do you create and restore this mailbox. Then, I will try to test it in may lab.

Do you create mailbox in Exchange on-premises, then migrate mailbox to Exchange Online? Or create AD account, then sync it to AAD and assign license to create mailbox from Office 365 directly?

How do you restore this mailbox?
