Hi,
Someone has turned on group policies for domain, public and private but the inbound and outbound connections are set to 'Not configured". I assume that means the firewall isnt doing anything?
Thanks
David

By default, when installing a new server/client the Windows Firewall Private & Public profiles will be On, when you join the server/client to a domain, the Domain profile will be On.
If you have a GPO for the Firewall that is set to Not Configured then the firewall will still be On.
Inbound connections will be blocked (default).
Outbound connections will be allowed (default).

Hello David!
Unless it isn't configured in any other GPO, then the firewall shouldn't do anything.
Below is a good blog post explaining what these values actually do in clear language:

Thanks. I know about Group policy application - LSDOU and all that. I was just wondering whether 'not configured' defaulted to Block or Allow.

Hello! So even if Inbound connections is not configured, it is still blocking them?
