Question

Hi all,
We have a Windows 10 Enterprise 1607 November update reference image which we deploy with SCCM. When non-local admins log on and try and go to the 'Manage Optional Features' app, then select 'Add a Feature' the computer never lists any optional features. If I log in with a local admin then I see a list of optional extras, can anybody help me with this?
I saw a post suggesting that the problem is the following key, but we do actually use SCCM for Windows Updates so this should actually be set to 1.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU, UseWUServerds
I can see others have posted about this but it has not been resolved. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/no-features-to-install-under-optional-features/83d8268a-26c5-4008-911a-ded2ecc30537
Can anybody explain why non-admins, when presented with the UAC prompt and add credentials cannot add optional features?
I would expect to see the following:

Michael

Hi Michael,
I think you should have checked this case.
Add Optional Features - when Domain Joined
I modify the UseWUServerds registry key to 0, and I can see optional features, of course this test account is a standard user account.
(HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU)
What is different is that my machines is not join domain.
So I suggest that leave the domain and change the registry key value then re-join domain.
Regards

Hi Teemo,
The post is the same question as mine but there is no solution.
The issue cannot be that it is not on the domain, because it does work when on the domain if I log in with an account that is a local administrator. Perhaps when they took it off the domain they logged in as a local admin so it appeared to be the cause, but I think it is a bug, as the OP in the link you have posted has suggested.
Regards,
Michael

Well, my test account is not an administrator account, but after I changed registry key value, I can see optional features and install some of them, I check the UAC setting, it stays on Notify me only when app try to make changes to my computer(default) level.
