Question

Hi,
Microsoft releases most of the patches on second tuesday of each month.
We'd like to install updates on half of the servers on approx one week after that, and on second half two weeks after.
In WSUS GPO we have a setting for monthly update with options:
Every week
First week
Second week
Third week
Fourth week
This is a bit ambiguous. What is the first week of a month?
For example, on August 2019 patch tuesday is 13th. We'd like first batch of servers start autoinstall updates on 20th and second batch on 27th.
How should I configure GPO?
Is "first week" this month 29.7 - 4.8, or is it first full week 5.8 - 11.8 ? Or is sunday the first day of the week and the first week 28.7 - 3.8 or 4.8 - 10.8 ?
Also, on which operating systems are first - fourth week options supported?

Hi,
I noticed that in the policy of configuring automatic updates, the optional number of weeks is 4 weeks:

Under some requirements of ISO 8601 regarding time, if August is divided into four weeks, it should be the following structure:

In summary, I think you can consider choosing a deployment installation that completes the rollup update in the third and fourth weeks.
Hope the above can help you.

Hi,
Thank you for your reply, I will try that.
Btw, in your calendar image, wouldn't the the red outlined section be 5th week of last month (july 2019) ?

Right, This is a negligence, and thanks for correcting me.
What I mean is that there are only four weeks to choose from in the group policy. My suggestion is to choose the last two weeks.

Thanks, works perfectly!
I was too hasty with this one. It does not appear to work at all.
I have a bunch of servers, that are set to install updates at 6am at fourth tuesday of every month.
So far they have installed updates on 27.8 , 17.9, 24.9 and 10.8 .
Any idea how to fix this?
