Show the touch keyboard when not in tablet mode and there's no keyboard attached - Not working for some Users

Question

Tuesday, June 30, 2020 7:13 PM

Environment - Windows 10 1909 Enterprise 64 bit

When the standard User logs on to the Kiosk computer (touch screen enabled) they can access the On screen keyboard on the windows in which text can be entered.

When the special account logs on to the Kiosk computer (designated to logon on the kiosk PC), on screen keyboard does not appear. There is a separate GPO for Kiosk User but there is no explicit policy which blocks the on screen keyboard.

Please help.

Hi,

1. Which mode you've deployed for Kiosk computer? Single or multi-app?

2. How did you enable"Show the touch keyboard when not in tablet mode and there's no keyboard attached"?

Per searching, there are three methods to achieve this, kindly verify if other way could work the specific group of users.

3.Kindly check  the UAC and verify if any different settings for working and non-working users.

Thank you Jenny.

I have applied the Single app mode.

For non kiosk users, I did not have to enable this setting - It is working already.

For Kiosk users, keyboard doesnt appear and I dont see a UAC also.

Please suggest.

Hi,

According to the setting up guidance for single-app kiosk, user account control (UAC) must be turned on to enable kiosk mode.

/en-us/windows/configuration/kiosk-single-app

You could go through the guidance and verify if anything missed for the accounts configuration.

Thanks,

Jenny
