When inserting an object from a file in any Office program (word, excel, etc..) and the source would be from a path to a sharepoint directory, the correct icon is not recognized (word to word, excel to excel icon). But this isn't an issue when linking to a file from the local hard drive. How can I make it to where it will not default to packager.dll.

Hi Duy817,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to change the icons of embedded objects form SharePoint in office.
To change icon, you should insert files by going to: Insert > Object > Create from file > Check the “Display as icon” option > Change the icon > Browser to the office folder.
