Question

Hi everyone,
We have an internal user/customer who has an issue when forwarding a meeting invite.
When she forwards the meeting to a person who wasn't in the list of original attendees, all attendees
receive a notification warning that the meeting had been forwarded while this notification should be sent only to the organizer.
I checked the CalendarSettings already through PS and they are similar like other users
who don't experience this behavior.
We use Office 365 ProPlus with Outlook 2016 client.
Any suggestions/ideas how to solve this issue ?
Thanks a lot.
Kind regards,
Nico

Hi Nico,
Did the organizer happen to send a meeting update to all of the attendees after the user forwarded the meeting?
As is mentioned in the last section of the article below, if the organizer opens the meeting in the calendar and sends a meeting update to all of the attendees, the existing attendees will be alerted that an additional attendee was added to the meeting:
Hope you can find this helpful. Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance on this.
Best regards,
Yuki Sun

Hi Yuki Sun,
Thanks for the feedback but this isn't the case.
The organizer didn't forward the meeting.
We do think that we could find a possible reason the meeting is forwarded to all attendees .
The user is syncing the mailbox/calender also with a smartphone which could cause this behavior.
We are currently busy with investigating if this could be the real cause of the issue.
Kind regards,
Nico

Hi Nico,
Thanks for your update.

Does this user have his account configured in the iOS Mail app?
Currently, there is a hot issue that Outlook forwards meeting invitations to other attendees without anyone actually sending an update or forwarding an invite. This happens to accounts that are configured in the iOS Mail app.
If this is your case, please refer to the article below the workaround and other information:

Hi Yuki Sun,
Yes indeed, the user is using the native IOS mail app for this.
We performed some tests in the past and didn't see such a behavior if we use the MS Outlook App.
Kind regards,
Nico

Hi, I just had something similar happen; I forwarded my OWN meeting notice (because I wanted to add a note to the recipient, who was already listed in the attendee list) and it sent the meeting notice AND the note to all existing attendees. Why is that? I know I have done this before, and it only went to the person to whom I forwarded the meeting.
Thank you,
Kristen
