Question

All,
I posted this problem at the Microsoft Community forum and they advised that I post it here.
I am encountering an error when running the following command on windows 10, 32-bit:
>>netsh wlan set profileparameter TestNetwork connectiontype=ibss connectionmode=manual
Failed to modify the profile. Error 0x8000D: The BSS type is not valid.
What could be causing this? I set up a manual network (via Networking and Sharing center) and entered the passcode and set to "do not connect automatically" before attempting this. I searched online elsewhere and found nothing relating to the particular network card I use:
Realtek RTL8723BS Wireless LAN 802.11n SDIO Network Adapter, driver version 3008.30.315.2016.
I am able to run the command and connect successfully to the ad-hoc network on another machine (using a Broadcom wireless card). Is there something I am not doing correctly? Any help would be very appreciated.
Regards,
Ron
