Question

I'm receiving the below error after cleaning up migration moves from EX 2013 to 2016. This is the third time it shows up. Other forum posts indicate migrating the migration mailbox first, but i have already done that and this error still appears. I can usually fix it by deleting the migration mailbox and running setup.exe /PrepareAD (which recreates it). Here is the error i receive:
error A version mismatch was detected (Actual:6, Expected:5)
When running this command:
Get-Mailbox migration* -Arbitration | fl name, database, admindisplayversion
I receive the following output:
Name : Migration.8f3e7716-2011-43e4-96b1-aba62d229136
Database : DB1
AdminDisplayVersion : Version 15.1 (Build 1034.26)
Any ideas?

Hi,
From your description, I notice that the migration mailbox has been migrate to Exchange 2016, and also it's the latest update of Exchange 2016.
Based on my research, this issue also related to cookies cache in browser. Therefore, please login EAC with a clean PC for testing. Or clean browser cookies for testing.
Otherwise, we need to removed the Migration mailbox from AD, then create it by preparing AD and enable it.

I followed this guide to recreate the Migration Mailbox:

Unfortunately, restarting the Information Store service on the exchange servers didn't fix it. Nor did logging in from a fresh PC. I had to delete the migration mailbox and recreate it.
