Outlook 2016 won´t archive

Question

Thursday, September 1, 2016 7:56 AM

Hi

I have trouble with Outlook 2016 in our company. We are using exchange 2013. I found this problem on more than one station.
When I try to use archive tool and for example: set archive items older than 1.1.2016. The Outlook looks like he is "archiving".
But old messages are not moved. It looks like it can´t recognize date. I tried reinstall office / set another date / input DWORD - ArchiveIgnoreLastModifiedTime "1" into outlook registry. Nothing worked.

Do you have any ideas or solution ?? Thanks (and sorry for my bad english)

Hi,

>> The Outlook looks like he is "archiving".

By this do you mean Outlook shows "Archiving" on the status bar?

Are you using manually archive (File > Info > Tools > Clean up old items) or auto-archive (right click on a folder and select Properties > AutoArchive tab)?

Do you have items older than 1.1.2016 cached to your Outlook data file? If not, Archive won't apply on these Outlook items.

In addition, what if we try to manually drag some items to the PST file?

Thank you very much,

The problem was in cache. Users were caching only 12 months back. I tried edit this cache mode to full and archiving was succesfull.

Thanks

I have the exact same issue with a user and I'm not even bothering playing with the registry, which could possibly fix the issue but the person who posted the question said it was useless. At this point, there are good chances that some config files are causing the problem.

What I'm gonna try next before doing more researches to see over and over useless solutions and a possible working solution is to use RevoUninstaller to perform a full cleanup of the system. Time is the essence, no time to play the mad scientist.

Also had problem with cache.  Cache was only downloading 1 year, so nothing prior to one year would archive.
