Hi,
We are getting DHCP scope almost full alert. My question is, does manually deleting old IP addresses or entries in the DHCP lease help?

Yes, the DHCP server will be able to lease those IP address to new clients.
But by deleting old IP address, this mean that you must be sure that those clients are not on the network (you may have to ping those computers before)
If you are getting your DHCP scopes are often full (without free IP), you may want to look to fix this issue by:
- Increase the number of IP Address / scope (suppose you have exclusion range)
- Decrase the lease duration
If you have lots of peoples that are working in multiple sites and travel frequently between those sites, they may receive an IP from each scopes and at the end of the week, they you have consume lots of IP's. And if your lease duration is 2 weeks, this mean that the IP address for this device (who has accessed only 1 time) will be kept for 2 weeks in the DHCP.
Today with multiple portable devices such smart phones, iPad, laptop and many others devices, it's another challenging issue that network administrators has to deal with.
