Question

Hi All,
The problem I am having is with Windows Explorer. In Windows Explorer I sometimes inadvertently move folders by dragging and dropping when meaning to double click. I am currently using Windows 10.
Is there a way to turn on a confirmation dialog prompt ("are you sure you want to...") when dragging and dropping files/folders? Previous versions of Windows had this prompt, but it has since been removed. Maybe, there is a registry hack or something similar that allows me to change the drag and drop behaviour in Windows Explorer?
I hope you can help,
CEStar

Hi ceBlueSky,
What is your current situation?
I found your another thread:
Could you please have a share about which operating system that you are currently running?
There are settings available to display confirmation diag when deleting files, under:
User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> File Explorer
Policy called: Display confirmation dialog when deleting files.
For the drag and drop, apologize to say that it seems to be no such function available to confirm it before the action.
If you mean to avoid the accidental drag and drop, then
"adjust the drag sensitivity so that it takes a greater effort to trigger a drag and drop operation. By default, the mouse needs to travel four pixels with the button held down for a drag operation to be initiated. To make it harder to initiate an accidental drag operation, just crank this number higher. "
Reference: When people ask to disable drag and drop, they often are trying to disable accidental drag and drop
Or you may consider to take use of some 3rd-party tools, which is at your own risk.
Regards

I'm currently using Windows 7 and I've just installed this simple small-sized software and it seems to perfectly does the job for me. Give it a try with an other windowing system. It ought to work. Good luck!
