Windows 10 - Task Scheduler after last update

Question

Hi,

We have some problems on Win 10 computers with task scheduler after last update (since 2 weeks ago)

We have a task that works every 5 minutes daily (first start at 12:00 AM). Usually it works normally but...

If we create this task on a computer with 'first start' in the past, it won't work.

If we make restart, the task doesn't  work before 12:00 AM next day.

Task Scheduler shows 'next run time', but the trigger doesn't work. When we press F5 after it should have start, 'last run time' does not change, next run time updates to the future. History is clear (history is enabled).

Is it a bug?

Hi,

I have noticed that this issue just happen in elder version of Windows 10, but not in the build version 14393.222 or later, Please make sure to install all updates and see if your issue can be fixed.

Sorry to not upload the updated screenshot, but it's truly working on my computer with build number 14393.222.

Hi,

I have tested what you mentioned as below:

1. Create a task scheduler on Windows 10 1607 14393.222

2. The Start time is 10:58pm but the current time is 11:01pm

3. Every 5 minutes, start CMD.exe, and it works fine:

Please make sure to install all updates and run following commands to make sure there is no corrupted system files causing this issue:

SFC /SCANNOW

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833

If the issue still persists, please check if there is any error under Event viewer \ Applications and services \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Task scheduler.

Also, let me know the certain task you scheduled, so that I can make more similar test to check the results.

Hi

Thank you for your reply

Are your sure it started?

It shows last run time long in the past on your screenshot. I've tried to create the same, when it comes to 11:08:00 PM didn't start, next run time changed to 11:13:00 PM, last run time was 11/30/1999

The computer is up to date (I've tested it on some computers).

SFC /SCANNOW

Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

I don't see anything strange under Event viewer \ Applications and services \ Microsoft \ Windows \ Task scheduler.
