Question

Whenever I printed in Windows 7, a notification message would pop up on the screen, and then fade away.
In Windows 10, I don't seem to have that pop up anymore.
Is there a way to turn this on? I have looked in the Print Settings MMC, and the notifications are turned on for Local and Network printers... is there somewhere else I need to to turn this on? I have looked in the Notifications area in settings, but there is nothing to do with printers in there.
Thanks

- Press Windows Key +R to launch the Windows Run dialog box.
- Type “printmanagement.msc“, then press Enter key
- Expand “Printer Servers“, then right click the name of the computer and select “Printer Server Properties“.
- Select the “Advanced” tab.
- Put a check mark against “Show Informational Notifications for Local Printers” and “Show Informational Notifications for Network Printers“.

Hi kshaeta,
Please check the following registry key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Settings]
“EnableBalloonNotificationsRemote”=dword:00000001
“EnableBalloonNotificationsLocal”=dword:00000001
Try to login with anther account to have a troubleshoot whether the issue only occurred with the specific account.
Best regards

Yes, that's what I meant by the Print Settings MMC... I guess it's called "Print Services". They are both checked. Doesn't make a difference

I added those two entries (they were not there) and it didn't make a difference. This happens on more than one Windows 10 Pro PC.

Hi kshaeta,
Did the printer work well?
"I added those two entries (they were not there) and it didn't make a difference"
As far as I know, those two entries won`t occur until we get a printer work well. Have you tried to restart the machine after add the two entries?
Have you tried to login with another account?
Best regards

I'm not having any issues with printing. The printers all print fine.
The issue is that the little display bubbles are not popping up, informing me that the job was sent to the printer.
I've restarted the system several times.
I've tried it from several Windows 10 computers with different accounts.

Maybe a better question is that for other people running Windows 10, do you get pop-ups that say "Document was sent to printer" or something similar? Maybe this feature has been removed?

Have you tried uninstalling all the printers, reboot, add one printer, reboot then try a test page. Might be one specific printer or combo of printers causing the issue from it's drivers. Play around and see what you come up with.

That is possible. However, I would have to remove all the print drivers from my print server in order to test this theory, which would make my co-workers quite unhappy.
