Hi,

I upgrade my PC to Windows 10 1709 (from 1703), but when I connect to this PC via RDP, this remote PC going to sleep after diferent time period.

The same 400 PC with the same power management plan with W7, W8.1 and W10 -1703 never sleep.

This is new feature ? If yes how to disable it.

Thanks,

SnakeAG

Hi SnakeAG,

No, Windows 10 1709 no such new feature. Let's narrow down this issue.

Did this PC sleep in local connected instead of remotely?

Did it sleep when idle time or randomly?

First of all, please disable sleep and hibernate as the following guide:

Here I suggest you disable the Hibernate completely via running the following command as Admin:

powercfg -h off

If the issue persists, check if any clue in the event viewer.

Hi Karen,

PC going to sleep when i connect remotely.

I do not want to make any changes to power management settings, I drive it via GPO. All workinf fine wit 1703 version, and Windows 8.1, 7.

And your qestion:

Did it sleep when idle time or randomly?

I now try this three times and idle time is 30 minutes (this is in directly PM schema in GPO)

Hi,

What if when you idle for 30 minutes during local connection instead of remotely?

Please check your power option setting in Windows 10 1709. We just want to confirm if the group policy is applied fine in Windows 10 1709.

Same problem, after upgrade.... :(

Same here, Win 10 Enterprise just got upgraded to 1709. Connecting via RDP prompted for password even though credentials were saved and the computer went to sleep after only 2 minutes of idle!

I deleted credentials and for now it's not prompting and I ran the command "powercfg -h off" and that seems to have fixed the sleep issue. Hopefully it stays fixed.

This only works until the group policies are reapplied.

I repeat, this problem is only in version 1709. All other versions Windows from 7 to 10 1703 work fine.

This is new feature prepared from environmental activists :-) or bug ?

Feature or bug I can tell you one thing, it's flipping annoying. I'm trying a scheduled task to run "powercfg -h off" at startup. Hopefully that'll make it stick.

I just hope this is a bug and will be fixed shortly.
