Caps lock tone keeps turning on by itself, driving me crazy

Question

Wednesday, September 20, 2017 8:31 AM

A long time ago i enabled a beeping sound when you enable the Caps lock key, i remember setting it up in the BIOS but could not find it there anymore and maybe i'm mistaken.

But under Windows 10 the setting is under Ease of Access>Keyboard>Toggle Keys>Hear a tone when you press caps lock, num lock, and scroll lock.

When i turn this off the sound stops but then minutes later it's back on again. How do i turn this off permanently?

Generally there are two options to turn off this settings-one is via Control Panel which you have tried and the other one is via Settings.

Open Settings

Ease of Access

Keyboard

Under Toggle keys move the slider to off position under Hear a tone when you press Caps Lock...

If it doesn't help then there is a registry tweak

Thank you, you both gave me the same link. However i tried all 3 options including the registry fix but it keeps turning back on by itself :-(

It's off for maybe 15 minutes and then it's on again. I even rebooted after ther registry change.

I was able to solve my problem by deleting the registry mentioned in the posted help articles. Simply changing the value did not work.

Edit: I was too soon with rejoicing my issue is back dammit!
