With the heavy dependence of Exchange 2013 on version 4.5.X, I'm not sure if removing it was supported. I would consider opening a ticket with Microsoft so no further harm is done.

Since the Operating System is not booting properly you may be better off asking this question in the Windows Server forum.  If it was me and I had multiple Exchange Servers in a DAG I would just rebuild the server and have it back up and running in less than a day rather than troubleshoot the server not booting.

Hi,

For your question, please try below steps to troubleshooting:

  1. Start Windows server, then run below command in command prompt:
DISM.exe /online /enable-feature /all /featurename:NetFx4
DISM.exe /online /enable-feature /all /featurename:MicrosoftWindowsPowerShell

2. Once both the commands run successful without any errors, restart the server with "Shutdown -r -t 0"
3. Once the server is restarted, open PowerShell by "PowerShell.exe" in command prompt, then enter the following command to complete GUI installation:

Install-WindowsFeature Server-Gui-Shell, Server-Gui-Mgmt-Infra

4. Once the GUI Shell is installed, you need to restart the server with the following command:
Restart-Computer
5. Then re-install .Net FrameWrok with PowerShell:

Add-WindowsFeature Net-Framework-45-Features

If there're error return, please post here for further assistance. More details about it, please refer to: https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/askcore/2014/04/24/removing-net-framework-4-54-5-1-removes-windows-20122012r2-ui-and-other-features/

Moreover, recover install Exchange server might be more great as Hinte mentioned. For your reference:

Tried the below cmd and rebooted the PC , got the Desktop but AD and Exchange things are not working properly now.

"** Dism /online /enable-feature /all /featurename:Server-Gui-Mgmt /featurename:Server-Gui-Shell /featurename:ServerCore-FullServer** "

Please guide whether the above cmd make any issues and now how to check that Server is working properly.

This sounds like a stand-alone Exchange server installed on a Domain Controller to boot.  I highly recommend that you do no further harm and open a ticket with Microsoft.

Hi,

The command as you mentioned is used to convert a server core installation back to a full operating system installation(GUI Version). It'll not take effect to AD, however the Full installation option support installing all available server roles and also other Microsoft or third-party server applications, such as Microsoft Exchange Server.

You can re-install .Net Framework and restart server, then login EAC or EMS, and check mail flow.

Note that if you don't familiar with this, please open a ticket with Microsoft as Andy mentioned.

Could you please say me the command to reinstall .Net framework 4.5 &  .Net framework 3.5 ?

Already installed .Net Framework with cmd which you have given. Also tried .Net repair tool too.

When we install .Net framework or any features and reboot again system getting into server core.

Ok i will speak with my leads and raise a ticket with Microsoft.
