For some reason, when I try to install any type of VPN software on my windows 10 computer, the installer gives me an error about not being able to install the virtual network adapter. I've tried softether vpn, openVPN, Tunnelbear vpn, and ZenMate - none of them will install and they get hung up at installing the virtual network adapter. Also, when I go to Network Settings and try to add a new VPN connection, the window becomes unresponsive for a while. After it comes back and I enter in the VPN info, the vpn connection get stuck on connecting and never connects sucessfully. I did not upgrade my computer from windows 8, I did a clean install of Windows 10 without keeping any files. I would appreciate any suggestions on how I can get my vpn connections to work. I have Kaspersky Internet Security but I disable it when installing stuff or working with VPN's.

Is this the release version of win 10 or an insider build?
You may not be able to disable Kaspersky completely as is often the case. Depends on the version
Please run a system file check (SFC) & DISM (if necessary) if you are on win 8 or higher

Hi KDragonM,
What is your current situation?
If the Virtual Adapter can't be added, then please consider enable Hyper-V in Windows 10, and use VPN software under Windows 8.1 Virtual Machine.
Besides, if the current Windows 10 version is Build 10240, then on the VPN vendor website, there should be articles talking about how to setup the VPN on Windows 10. And it is recommended to seek help at the VPN vendor side regarding the questions here.
