With the help of Matt the "KBxxxxxxx does not apply, or is blocked by another condition on your computer" issue is fixed.

The solution is running a visual studio 2010 product repair from the Programs and features, located on windows control panel.

Then rerun the patch and the hotfix installed correctly.

Thank you for the help Matt.

Hi rmigas,

You may check the following points

1. Is your machine x86 (32 bit machine) or x64?  If it is x64 you need that version of the patch, if you are trying to install the x86 version of the patch, your machine should be x86.

2:  Do you have any other hotfixs newer applied that may be preventing the patch from detection of a proper 'baseline'?

Thanks.

Hi Figo Fei,

Thank you for your reply.

I am trying to install on a x64 machine.

The hotfix (http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/KB2345133/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=5051) is for visual studio. There is only a x86 version for download.

This is the link with the full information. I am trying the step 1.

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/visualstudio/archive/2010/10/14/hotfixes-available-for-scrolling-context-menu-problem.aspx

I have visual studio 2010 Ultimate Version 10.0.30319.1 RTMRel. I don't know if I have installed any hotfix that may be preventing the path from detecting a proper 'baseline'. How can I know that?

Best regards,

Rui

Hi Rui,

The first installer(KB2345133) should also work on x64 machine, that could be a naming problem with x86 in its name...

To check if you've installed other hotfixes, go to VS2010 menu Help > About.

If you keep getting problems on this hotfix, you may directly contact the PM at http://blogs.msdn.com/b/visualstudio/archive/2010/10/14/hotfixes-available-for-scrolling-context-menu-problem.aspx or report the issue to connect.microsoft.com to get solved.

Thanks.

Hi Figo Fei,

I went to the visual studio blog and posted the problem.

With the help if Matt Kaufman I fixed the problem as I wrote on the blog.

Rui
