Windows 10 Pro Date&Time short date format settings has only 1 selection as dd/MM/yyyy only

Question

Hi,

I am aware how to change date and time settings in 2 method, (1) from the settings "Change date time formats and (2) from the control panel under formats "additional settings"

has anyone encountered when trying to change in method 1 from Change date time formats and only 1 selection for short date (dd/MM/yyyy) other short date format are missing, like M/d/yyyy, M/d/yy etc.. I need M/d/yyyy

What I did is to change the short date format in method 2 control panel additional settings and it works but it has impact to our application system, error running date range reports. Other computers with the same OS has no problem in our app system because the method 1 selected as M/d/yyyy, as I checked there are many selection of short date on other computers.  Is there any recommendation and suggestion?

Thank you.

Hi,

You need to make sure you have chose a right region, normally we should choose "Match Windows display language" through Control Panel\Clock, Language, and Region\Region\change a location\Format.

Then you will see the short time format in Settings have M/d/yyyy option.

Bests,

Thank you very much Joy-Qiao. It works! when I change the format (above Match windows display...) from English (Philippines) to English (United States) like your sample image above. English (Ph) seems in method 1 the short date is dd/MM/yyyy only. I got it now. cheers! reports can viewed now.
