Question

Hi,
Is there a way to offer multiple boot images in SCCM 2012?
Reason: we would like to add other bootimages then the default ones (which not boot into sccm deploy).

Hi,
The client will grab the Boot image assoiciated with the Task Sequence deployed to the client, if multiple Task Sequence are targeted to the klient the boot image with the last deployed TS will be used.

I haven't tested this with CM12, but it did work on CM07.
ConfigMgr just adds another provider on top of the existing PXE provider of WSUS. A PXE request will be handled down to the standard provider if the CM12 provider is not able to answer it (IOW: no abortpxe, no tasksequence, etc - which implies that you cannot use unknown computer support). I've done this with CM07 and I *guess* that it will work with CM12 too, see http://www.mssccmfaq.de/2010/05/18/parallelbetrieb-von-wds-und-pxe-servicepoint/ So spin up your lab and test it.

Thanks! Any chance there is an English version :-)?

Note: there isn't an option to choose which boot image you want to use? That would make it no option for us.

Thanks. Great article but what I wanted to achieve is to have a boot menu in which you can choose which bootimage you want. Would that be possible?

I've seen options after pxe-boot where you could choose what to boot.
Not sure where or how it was congifured thought. I think it was on a standalone wds, but that should also work on a WDS used by sccm ...(?)

? Not sure what you mean. This link is about WDS troubleshooting.
I have put a screenshot from WDS PXE, that's what I want to achieve in WDS PXE WITH SCCM.

Sorry yes I was pointing towards the screenshot rather than the actual article.

Ok, thanks for that. And what did you wanted to clarify with that?

Out of the box, there appears to be already a menu. Don't know how I got there but there IS a menu so there should also be a possibility to use different images, please advise.

I've already told you how to do it, just see my reply above. I am not aware of a different way.

As far as I understand, the option you give is to change the bootimage. I'd want to give the option to choose between the options. Besides, by default it should not give it but via key combination (which I pressed but did not find again).

Jörgen has already answered this question. The last boot image associated with the last TS deployed will be the one used. A menu for choosing from multiple boot images would be a nice feature but it just doesn't exist.
I don't know at this stage what you are digging for. It's just not possible.
