Visual Studio 2017 Community Download for offline installation

Question

Monday, February 19, 2018 1:32 PM

Hello,

I'm trying to run the download for the Visual Studio 2017 Community Version for offline installation.

For this I started the installer vs_community.exe with the following parameters --lang de-DE --layout .\vs2017offline

Unfortunately, the installer seems to hang just before the end of the download. If I abort the download and restart the installer with the same parameters, the existing files are verified. But after the output of the following text, it can not go on:

Verified existing package 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.Vsto.Runtime,version=15.0.2
1.2,chip=x86'
Verified existing package 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.Vsto.Runtime.Resources,vers
=15.0.26621.2,chip=x86,language=de-DE'
Verified existing package 'Unity3d.x86,version=3.0,chip=x86'
Verified existing package 'GitV2,version=2.14.1.1,chip=x86'
Total packages to download: 7
Starting 'UpdateLayout' operation

How can I fix the problem?

Hallo Sara

thanks for the replay.

The problem is no longer present.
The download has now been completed
I suspect this is due to the release of the new version
Visual Studio 2017 Version 15.5.7 on February 20, 2018

Hi VVoss TechnoStep,

Welcome to the MSDN forum.

Please waiting for a moment like an hour to see if it is hang on or just download an big package, during the process, please make sure temporarily disable any antivirus software and run the command as administrator right.

Best regards,

Sara
