Hello, My bedroom is slightly out of wifi range so im trying to connect my phone to the internet through an adhoc network on my Ethernet connected windows 10 computer. im following the instructions on this site;
http://www.redmondpie.com/create-ad-hoc-wifi-hotspot-in-windows-10-heres-how/
*netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=adhocname key=password
is all successful
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
*however comes up with the above error.
Ive tried a few of things i found on various sites; including
Uninstalling all network adapters in device manager including hidden ones then restarting
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns
a few of them say to enable Microsoft Hosted Network adapter in device manager but my computer doesn't seem to have it listed
some sites say to allow sharing on the wifi internet adaptor settings, as soon as I do that my ethernet stops working and my connection is names "unknown connection". using the windows troubleshooter it says "dhcp is not enabled for Ethernet 2" and applies its fix, assumable enabling it.
I have also tried Mark and Unmark on “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” option on both the wireless network and Ethernet network
