Force Restart for Windows 10 Feature Update from CMD

Question

Hello everyone,

I have been looking and looking for a solution to this but haven't been able to find anything yet. We have a domain setup with around 1000 machines managed by SCCM, active directory, WSUS, etc. We have been having an issue where windows updates have not been applying the feature update (1803) automatically. Normal restart commands through CMD do not apply the Feature Update and I would like to be able to do this either through a script or modifying a group policy we have in place. Does anybody have any ideas on how to force the 1803 update to install on restart? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Normal restart command through CMD don’t apply update. However, you can type the following command to check if the issue still persists.

wuauclt /detectnow /updatenow && shutdown /s /t 0

Hope these are helpful.

Antivirus has nothing to do with this issue. I saw your post about antivirus in another thread. Im asking how to force the 1803 update to install. Users are required to click restart on the update when it pops up, or click "update and restart". Im asking if there is a way to bypass this. I am not saying updates are failing to install.
