Question

Recently (over the last 2-3 weeks) when anyone on Windows 10 open Chrome the Default apps Setting window opens. It does not matter what your Web browser is set to. Mine is set to Edge. Most others have it set to Chrome. Understandably, I am being bombarded with complaints. In addition, since chrome is in the startup, this occurs every time a users logs onto a computer. I assumed it was caused by the March Windows updates since the timeline seemed to coincide. I have come up empty searching the internet for others with this problem so now I'm thinking it is an internal issue. Is this happening to anyone?

Hi bassoml,
Please try to reset the default programs to default and then configure a default web browser to have a test.
Settings\System\Default apps\Reset
Best regards

Try opening chrome from the task bar, close the default apps screen then right click the chrome icon and select the chrome in the field that appears; obviously this will open a separate window. I experienced this problem and found that for some reason the problem stopped after doing this.
