CCM\CIDownloader\Staging folder @ 42GB

Folks,  

hands up, I dont know, and 4 hours of trawling WWW and various blogs has brought no joy.  What exactly goes in the CCM\CIDownloader\Staging  folder,  we have a "rogue" client that has 42GB of files in there, and I cant fathom out where this is all coming from.

No applications deployed except software updates

Quite literally,  whats in there ?  Then I can start looking at what the issue might be

I believe that folder relates to compliance settings configuration items.  Are there any compliance settings configured for that client?

no, there shouldnt be - its a  legacy W2003 VM prior to migrating/re-platforming  

I'll get them to double check....
