OneDrive.exe - Bad Image

Question

Tuesday, January 21, 2020 3:09 AM

Recently my users have been receiving the following errors when OneDrive.exe launches:

"C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive\19.222.1110.0006\SyncEngine.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Error status 0xc0000022."

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling OneDrive, including removing the entire directory. I've tried copying over SyncEngine.dll from a working machine. I've also tried running regsvr32 against the dll. The error persists and seems to be popping up on more and more users, all running the latest Windows 10 1909.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately running the installer, uninstalling and reinstalling, and following the steps in the link do not resolve the issue.

Thanks! I came back from a long weekend and on one of the machines Onedrive launched fine. Couldn't see any updates applied over the weekend and the file SyncEngine.dll is the exact same product version 19.222.1110.0006. More frustrating than helpful. Another machine though started to exhibit the same issue. I'd prefer a definite fix over it fixing itself. Thanks for your help!
