Hi,

The error means that a hardware error has occurred.

To fix it, try the following:

1. Get all the latest updates with Windows Update. Go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and then select Check for updates.

2. Try restoring Windows back to an earlier point in time.

3. run the following commands to collect logs:
** msinfo32 /nfo C:\SYSSUM.NFO /categories +systemsummary**
** wevtutil epl System C:\system.evtx**
** wevtutil epl Application C:\app.evtx**
And check if there is any dump file in C:\ and upload logs and dump file to your OneDrive for analysis.

Best regards,

Yilia

I wanted to know why the minidump files are not created. We can find the solution once minidump (*.dmp) created.  Below settings are set by default

I do not find minidump files in Windows 10 workstations. Is it a bug in Windows 10?

as this is a hardware bug, Windows might simply be unable to write the dump file.
But you should look in event log if it logs a reason why it did not write a dump,
probably as event 161 from volmgr - "Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation"

make sure you have enough free space on your system drive and NOT changed the default settings for page file.

event 161 from volmgr comes under System or Setup event log. I checked in both System and Setup and unable to find the event id 161.

Hello,

Look for a Kernel Power event 42 in the system log.

Post the details in this thread if that exists.

Hello,

Sorry Mistyped, I meant Kernel Power 41, not 42.

Hi,

stop code: WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR in blue screen means that there is a hardware issue.

We can check WHEA logs in event viewer by filtering:

Hello, was there any solution to this issue? I too am having issues with approx 10% of our Dell's in a corporate enviornment.

Same STOP error code. No Dump Files created. Nothing logged under the WHEA-Logger Event Source in System Event Viewer. VOLMGR shows only an error from several days before the crashes.

yeah i have the same error. luckily only on one optiplex 7070 (out of 5 we purchased last year). It does seem that there is some dell related thing going on here :)

i am just doing a bios update and see if that resolves it. Might have something to do with the monitor going to sleep, because the user has this problem whenever they walk away from the computer to go to a meeting for an hour or two. Come back to the desktop and stuck on WHEA error. Nothing is logged to the event log at this time. WHEA filter as others suggested has zero entries. probably it crashes hard enough to not be able to write anything. OS is 1903.
