How to open hyperlinks in a Visio Webdrawing in the same window

Hi,

I created a diagram in Visio 2013 Professional. I saved the diagram as Visio Webdrawing to a Sharepoint document library. The diagram contains some hyperlinks to other pages. However all the pages are opened in a New window.

How can I make the hyperlinks to open in the same window?

Hi,

Did you save the Visio 2013 file as Visio 2010 web drawing format(VDW)? If yes, please check the shapesheet settings of the shape.

  • Select a shape and run Developer Tab > show shapesheet in Visio menu
  • In the shapesheet, find hyperlink section.
  • In the section, NewWindow Cell should "False"
  • If the cell value is True, Hyperlink open in a new tab or window.

Hi,

Yes, I saved the Visio as Visio 2010 Web Drawing.

And the NewWindow cell is set to 'FALSE' for the figure containing the hyperlink. But the hyperlink still opens in new tab.

Is it possible that the Visio Web Access in SharePoint override this?

Do you mind telling us your environment?

  • SharePoint Version
  • Browser

I tested with my environment: Visio 2013 pro 32bit, SharePoint 2013 and IE 11. If I set the Hyperlink.NewWindow Property as FALSE, the navigational page/shape would open in the same window.

The hyperlinks goes to SharePoint pages, NOT Visio-pages.

I tried to make one hyperlink to another Visio page (in the same file) by selecting sub-address, and this opens in the same page. If I make the hyperlink by paste the url to the SharePoint-page in the Address Field, it opens in a New tab.
