Question

Hello All,

Is there any registry settings to block the Your Phone feature which is available from Windows 10 version 1809 onwards?

Preferably through Registry or Group Policy? It would be a huge help.

Hi,

Thanks for your post in our forum.

Here are some methods we could try. As a kind reminder, please perform a backup before you making any changes.

Use GP to turn off Windows Phone-PC linking.

======================

  1. Type gpedit.msc into the Run bar and click OK or hit Enter.
  2. Navigate to the location below: Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Group Policy.
  3. Locate and double-click on the Phone-PC linking on this device policy to edit it.
  4. Select disabled, click on apply and OK.

Use registry editor to disable Your Phone APP.

======================

  1. Type regedit into the Run bar and hit Enter.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System.
  3. Right-click the new key, click New, and select DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  4. Name the new item EnableMmx and hit Enter.
  5. Go to the right-pane. Double-click the EnableMmx key.
  6. Go to Value data and type 0. Click OK.

When you finished, close the Local Group Policy Editor. And then restart the computer.

I have tested this, after you finish it, when you click Your phone, it will tell you that the app has been blocked.

Hope above information can help you.

Thanks again for your understanding and support.

Best Regards,

Otto
