Question

We have Multiple users seeing this error On Windows 7 Pro and Windows 10 Enterprise. We are experiencing lots of Application crashes, Hangs etc.. and we are trying to find a common factor and most systems have this error. Is this a KMS issue or a local PC issue?

The description for Event ID 0 from source Office 2016 Licensing Service cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

Subscription licensing service failed: -1073422333

Hi Neil,

What's the detailed Office version you installed on Windows, volume licensed Office 2016 or subscription version of Office 365 ProPlus?

Please open Word 2016, go to File > Account, under Product Information, collect the detailed information about the product. Click About Word to collect the detailed build number.

About the Office license issue, I suggest you can try the following steps to check the license status:

  1. Run as Administrator to open Command Prompt.
  2. Run the following script:
    cscript.exe "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs /dstatus
If you are running 32-bit Office 2016 on a 64-bit operating system, the script is:
    cscript.exe "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs /dstatus
  3. Collect the results.

If the issue is related to Windows license service, it is recommended to ask a question in Windows forum for more help. Thanks for your understanding.

Best Regards,
Winnie Liang

☻ At home, Dell Optiplex 7010 with 16GB RAM dual-booting Win 7 Pro 64-bit (now with Office 365 Home) and Win 10 Pro 64-bit
♥ Also still have Dell Optiplex 755 with 4GB RAM with Win XP Pro SP3 (which still gets updates with the POS hack) and Office 2003
