Question

Hi,
Per the following screenshot, I have three questions.
- If I set Subsequent failures as Restart the Service, does it mean the service will always try to start if it stops? Not just the 3rd time, but including 4th, 5th... times, right?
- If I set the Reset fail count after as 0 days, does it mean it will never reset fail count, right?
- If I set the Restart service after as 0 mintues, does it mean the service will not wait, but try to restart immediately, right?
Why I'm asking these three questions is the Print Spooler service of my print server is often somehow down unexpectedly. I want it will start automatically after failures.
Thanks,
高麻雀

Yes to all your questions but by setting it at 0 days and 0 minutes it will always run the "First failure" action as the count will reset and never run the Second Failure action.
Be kind and Mark as Answer if I helped.

What must be done if I want to restart the service immediately as soon as it fails.
@ Reset fail count after : _ ? _
@ Restart service after : _ ? _

I have figured this thing out.
If the Fail Count is set to : 0, It hits the first recovery option only. never goes for second or subsequent recovery option.
If the Fail Count is set to : 1, It resets the count after a day. ( exception to this is when, the machine reboots count is reset again. and start with first recovery option after reboot)
Thus to conclude my recommendation is to :
First Failure : Restart the Service
Second Failure : Restart the Service
Third Failure : Restart the Service / Restart the Computer
@ Reset fail count after : 1
@ Restart service after : 1
