Hi,

I notice that the issue is related to the Preview Pane feature in Windows 10. This forum focuses on general discussion for Office 2016.

To better resolve the issue, I would move the thread to Windows 10 forum for more help. Thanks for your understanding.

Regards,

Winnie Liang

Hi,

Check if you set this registry entry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

NoReadingPane DWORD value 1.

If it existed, just delete the "NoReadingPane" entry.

Meanwhile, check if you enable this group policy:

User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\File Explorer\ Explorer Frame Pane

Find the "Turn off Preview Pane" in the right pane, make sure it's "Not Configured".

This post is super helpful!
For some damn reason, I keep losing thumbnails and Details and Preview panes. I had to keep restoring my system EVERY DAY!

Any idea as to why NoThumbnails, NoReadingPane, and NoPreviewPane registry entries keep on being created in Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer?
