VS2005 Install Fails - VS80sp1-KB926601-X86-ENU.exe[winXP-sp2]

Hi, all,

 

When I install the VS80sp1-kb926601-X86-ENU.exe , Occur the error.

the error's content is :

        The installation source for this product is not available.Verify that the source exists and that you can access it.

 

so, how to deal with that.

 

OS: windows xp sp2;

My PC installs the vs2003 and VS2005.

Hello QualyLee,

 

 For your scenario here are some steps you can try.

 

  1. Please check if there is any beta version VS 2005 component in the system. Remove them if there is.

 

  2.  Please make sure the VS 2005 IDE is closed while install the SP1 for VS 2005.

 

  3.  Under certain conditions when installing on Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP, a digital signature verification error can occur. Please see Knowledge base article 925336 for details and resolution.

  

  4.  Please try the latest GDR hotfix if you are try to install SP1 for TFS on App - Tier or Data - Tier. You can download it from:

   http://download.microsoft.com/download/3/5/a/35a98c42-cbe5-450a-8a78-c126dfe6574b/VS80-KB919156-v2-X86.exe
