Question

I have been using PuTTY for some time with no problem. Today I tried using a session, and my password would not work. After a bit, I realized my problem: I had mistyped my login name, so I closed the session. When I restarted PuTTY, and used my saved session, which I have done many times before, all I got was a blank, unresponsive window. I have restarted my computer, modem, and router, and uninstalled and reinstalled PuTTY; again, when I try to use PuTTY, all I get is a blank window.
Any help fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Putty is not a Microsoft product. Putty saves it session info in the registry. It is found at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimonTatham\PuTTY\Sessions
You may want to backup that key, delete it and then recreate your session and see if it works.

Hi,
You may need to configure putty again.
How do I configure PuTTY?

Blanking out the registry seems to have worked. The I broke it again by closing PuTTY by hitting the X on the upper right, and had to do it all again. I have set PuTTY to always close on exit, so I don't have to hit the X.
Thank you, everyone.

SuperPuTTy is good and works on Windows 10 if you have lots of sessions to manage.
