Hi kumar,

Misconfigured Workflows library will cause that workflow has been published but isn’t displayed in SharePoint Designer. Missing this library might be one of the reason that causes all workflows are not showing. I’m not able to guarantee that it will show all the workflows when the  "workflows" library shows in the Designer.

Whether this issue occurred in another site collections?

Try to run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard and check the result.

Grace Wang

Hi Kumar,

Troubleshoot this issue as below:

1. Try to refresh this page via clicking refresh button in the quick access bar:

2. Create a simple list workflow in SharePoint Designer, save and publish it. Then refresh the page and check if the issue exists.

3. Close the SharePoint Designer and clear SharePoint designer cache and check again.

4. What’s the permission of account who open the site in SharePoint Designer, try to switch to another account with “Full Control” to check the result.

Hi Kumar,

Go to site settings->Site collection Administration->Site collection features->make sure “Workflows” feature is activated.

Go to SharePoint Designer->click “All files” in the left pane->click “Workflows” library->Check if there is any workflow files in it.

Hi Wang,

What I can see in the left pane is below, and I did not find "workflows"library

 and I have verified that all workflow related features are activated at the site collection level

Hi kumar,

Whether there is a Workflows folder under All Files as below?

This workflows library is hidden and each site within a site collection with the activated Workflows feature has its own ‘wfsvc’ library.

If there is no workflows document library in your files, try to deactivate Workflows feature and re-activate and check again.

And you can use site collection administrator account to access the Workflows document library following the article below to check if the account who accesses site via SharePoint Designer has proper permissions for this library:

Hi kumar,

Thanks for marking my reply as answer. I’m pleased to know that the information is helpful to you. I hope you are delighted with the service we provided you.

Here I will provide a brief summary of this post for your information.

[Though site contains it is not showing workflows]

Environment

====================

SharePoint 2010

** **

Question

====================

User opens a SharePoint site from SharePoint Designer 2010, but there is no items in Workflows folder.

** **

Analysis

====================

I provide some troubleshooting points:

  1. Try to refresh this page via clicking refresh button in the quick access bar.
  2. Create a simple list workflow in SharePoint Designer, save and publish it. Then refresh the page and check if the issue exists.
  3. Close the SharePoint Designer and clear SharePoint designer cache and check again.
  4. Switch to another account with “Full Control” to check the result.
  5. Go to site settings->Site collection Administration->Site collection features->make sure “Workflows” feature is activated.
  6. Go to SharePoint Designer->click “All files” in the left pane->click “Workflows” library->Check if there is any workflow files in it.

Kumar has confirmed there is no Workflows library, but workflows feature is already activated.

I explained that Misconfigured Workflows library will cause that workflow has been published but isn’t displayed in SharePoint Designer. Missing this library might be one of the reason that causes all workflows are not showing. I’m not able to guarantee that it will show all the workflows when the  "workflows" library shows in the Designer. And provide suggestion to run the SharePoint Products Configuration Wizard and check the result.

Grace Wang
